Seeking Public Comment on a
Temporary Use Permit
Council will be considering an application at its October 24, 2022 meeting for a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) #2022-0166 for District Lot 2448 (in the Seymour Bay neighbourhood).
Bowen Island Properties has applied for a temporary use permit with a 3-year term to allow a temporary light manufacturing facility to fabricate wooden housing components and panels on a portion of the lot.
On September 14, the applicant submitted a proposal to expand the scope of TUP-2022-0166 to include a provision for temporary worker accommodation, similar to that recently approved at the BIM Water Treatment Plant. In support of the application the applicant has provided an overview letter (see attachment in Staff Report from September 26 Regular Council Meeting).
Conditions have been added to the TUP to cover the light manufacturing use as well. Conditions would include hours of operation from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and contact information of the manager of the facility. Water and Septic provisions would be onsite, and refuse pickup would be contracted to Bowen Waste Solutions.
