Drop off will be by appointment only.

The final day for booking appointments will be Tuesday, May 28 at 3:00 PM.
How to book your space:
- Buy a decal from Snug Cover General Store from May 18 to May 26.
- Call Bowen Waste Solutions 604-947-2255 to book your appointment BY 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28.
- Drop off your materials at the appointed time inside the BIRD yard.
Decal Costs
$40 for a small load, about 5 garbage bags
$65 for a medium load, about 10 garbage bags
$150 for a large level truck load, for the contents of a level pick-up truck load
$35 per mattress or appliance
One decal per household.
What can I drop off?
Bowen Waste Solutions accepts household items such as appliances, metals, rimless tires and car batteries, and objects considered too large for weekly garbage pick-up. Please place loose items in bags, neat & tidy.
Please Note: Non-complying loads are subject to refusal.

Hazardous Waste and Paint Recycling: Saturday, May 25 at BIRD

Bowen Waste Solutions provides containers at BIRD for the drop-off of hazardous waste and paint recycling.
There are no fees to drop off hazardous waste or paint. The limit is 10 containers per visit.
What is accepted
- paints and stains (maximum 10 per household)
- flammable liquids (paint thinners, solvents, camp fuels, liquid adhesives with the flammable symbol). Max container size for kerosene is 9 L. Max container size for other liquids is 10 L.
- domestic pesticides (with skull and crossbones symbol AND “Pest Control Product” registration number (e.g. REG#12345 PCP ACT) in original containers. Max container size is 10 L.
- gasoline (in approved ULC containers only). Max container size is 25 L.
What is NOT accepted
- products that cannot be identified
- products that are leaking or improperly sealed
- empty containers
- commercial, industrial or agricultural products
- cosmetics, health and beauty aids
- insect repellants, disinfectants and pet products
- diesel, propane and butane fuels
- caulking tubes
- fertilizer
