Multi-use Path update

Phase 4 of the Multi-Use Path project received approval in principle by Council at its meeting on September 26, 2022. An option for the alignment of the section between Artisan lane and the Grafton Lake dam was chosen to follow the south side of Terminal Creek, then along the west portion of the water main alignment – crossing Terminal Creek at the Charlie’s Lane bridge, following Connolly Creek, and then following the water treatment plant road to Grafton Lake dam. This option was chosen because it would provide benefit to more members of the community and create a distinct amenity. This is one of the lower cost options, and provides a safe and appealing off-road route with high recreation value.
Staff will now be applying for funding the Artisan Lane to Charlie’s Lane section of the Path, with $500,000 being sought from the B.C. Active Transportation Infrastructure Grant program and a commitment to funding the 30% Municipal share of construction costs ($214,286).
