Seeking Public Comment

Regular Council Meeting

Project Description

Bowen Island Municipality has received a referral from the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) about an application from the Bowen Island Pub, at 479 Bowen Island Trunk Road for a New Outdoor Patio. The referral seeks for the Municipality to provide a comment on the application.

The Bowen Island Pub received temporary approval under COVID-era regulations to construct a new patio extension adjacent to the existing patio. This application would make the permission permanent.

The patio extension does not increase the overall licence capacity of the Bowen Island Pub. When the patio is in use the pub is required to lessen their inside capacity by an equivalent amount.

Staff are preparing to present this application at the Regular Council Meeting held on January 13, 2025.

In order to provide input on the referral, Council must gather input from the community. Staff will recommend that Council direct staff to gather community input to present at the Regular Council Meeting held on February 24, 2025. Council will then consider making a recommendation.
