This is a public notice under Section 26 of the Community Charter. Bowen Island Municipality intends to dispose of lands that are not being made available to the public for acquisition.
1033 Miller Road is land owned by the Municipality. The legal description is LOT 3 MUNICIPALITY LOT 490 GROUP 1 NEW WESTMINSTER MUNICIPALITY PLAN EPP98055.
The Municipality intends to enter into a long-term lease (65 years) with Lookout Housing and Health Society, a registered non-profit society. Lookout has agreed to construct and maintain a rental building of approximately 24 affordable housing units. A housing agreement bylaw will ensure affordability components of the housing units as well as the tenant eligibility of the units.
You can request to inspect a copy of the Lease Agreement at the Municipal Offices, 580 Bowen Island Trunk Road, Bowen Island, during our hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (closed on statutory holidays).
