The Official Community Plan (OCP) Survey is Now Open!

An OCP outlines the long-term direction for how our community will grow and evolve. It guides decisions on land use, development, infrastructure, housing, and environmental stewardship, shaping the future of our community through clear planning policies.

We know you have opinions on all of these things and we need to hear them!

The OCP will help steer many of the decisions that are made over the next ten years.

This survey is open to all residents and we really want to capture as many big Bowen opinions as possible.

Important Information Regarding Your 2025 Property Taxes and the Canada Post Job Action

2025 Property Taxes are due by 4:30 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Payments that are received after July 2, 2025 will be subject to a 10% penalty.

Mail that is lost or arrives after July 2, 2025 due to ongoing Canada Post job action will be subject to the penalty.

We highly recommend that you use a method other than mail to make your tax payment this year. If you, or someone you know, need assistance with accessing a payment method that is alternative to mail, please get in contact with us and we can help.

Stage 2 Water Conservation Guidelines are now in effect.

Bowen Island Municipality is implementing Stage 2 Water Conservation Guidelines, effective June 1, 2025, for all municipal water systems, island-wide.

Residents on private water systems, wells, and streams are also highly encouraged to adhere to the guidelines because regardless of where our water comes from, on Bowen we all have a responsibility to protect the island’s water resources.

Stage 2 Water Conservation focuses primarily on reducing outdoor water use, particularly lawn watering, which is one of the largest contributors to summer water demand.
