Pursuant to Section 224 of the Community Charter, Bowen Island Municipal Council intends to adopt a bylaw exempting from property taxation for up to 4 years (2024-2027) the lands and improvements or both that are owned or held by charitable, philanthropic or other not for profit organizations and that Council considers are used for a purpose that is directly related to the purposes of the Corporation. The properties being considered at the Council meetings of October 10th and 23rd, 2023, and the estimated total property taxes for all purposes that would be imposed if they were not exempt can be found in the notice.
