Project Description

Council will be considering issuing Development Variance Permit DVP-2024-0038 at their April 8th, 2024 Council Meeting. 

A Development Variance Permit application has been submitted for 1082 Miller Road (shown on map) to vary a number of regulations to facilitate the development of a 24-unit seniors housing complex.  

The application seeks a variety of variances, including: 

  • increase the total lot coverage from 55% to 72%,  
  • reduce the required setbacks to permit the underground parking area, roof overhang, elevator shaft, and cedar trellis to extend into the setbacks,  
  • to increase the height of retaining walls and fence within the setbacks, and  
  • reduce the required number parking spaces from 14 to 13. 

Variances have previously been issued for this property in 2020 and 2021 for a similar proposal. As those permits were valid for a period of two years they have now expired.
