New online platform makes it easier than ever for residents to submit and track service requests.
Bowen Island Municipality (BIM) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Citizen Portal, a streamlined digital platform designed to improve how residents connect with municipal services.
Through the Citizen Portal, residents can quickly and easily report problems or submit service requests related to public works and other municipal services. Using simple, topic-based online forms, users can log issues such as potholes, drainage concerns, water service interruptions, signage damage, or maintenance needs in parks and public spaces. Each request is automatically routed to the appropriate department, helping ensure faster response times and more efficient service.

To get started, residents simply need to create a secure account on the portal. Once registered and logged in, users can submit requests at any time, upload photos or supporting details, and track progress in real time from submission through to resolution. The portal also stores a history of past requests, making it easy for residents to stay informed and follow ongoing issues without needing to call or email municipal staff.
The new Service Request portal is located on the homepage of BIM’s website. The following video shows a Service Request being logged via the portal.
By centralizing requests in one place, the Citizen Portal provides greater transparency, improves communication, and allows residents to stay connected with municipal operations in a convenient, user-friendly way.
“The Citizen Portal is a significant step forward in how we serve our community,” said Sarah Kosari, Director of Engineering and Public Works. “We know Bowen Island residents value responsiveness and transparency, and this portal gives them a direct, convenient way to connect with us — at any time of day, from anywhere on the island.”
The portal reflects BIM’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to modernize service delivery and make everyday interactions with the municipality simpler and more accessible.
Residents are encouraged to visit citywideportal.com to create an account and explore the available services.
