Nominations Open September 1
Bowen Island Municipality will be accepting nominations for the 2026
General Local Election for the following positions:
- Mayor (1 to be elected)
- Councillor (6 to be elected)
- Islands Trust Trustee (2 to be elected)
Nomination Period runs from September 1, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. through
September 11, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Nominations can be submitted:
- In person or by mail to Bowen Island Municipality

Are you eligible to run? To be nominated, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old on General Voting Day
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Have lived in British Columbia for at least six months
- before nomination day
- Not be disqualified from holding local government office
- under the law
- Be nominated by two eligible Bowen Island electors
