Commissioning of Eagle Cliff-Cove Bay Connection

The final commissioning of the connection between the Eagle Cliff Water System and the Cove Bay Water System will begin on Wednesday, September 23 and may continue for several days.

During this work, crews will conduct field testing and make operational adjustments, including testing water flows, chlorine residuals, and system pressure balance. Water users in the Eagle Cliff System as well as some homes in the Scarborough neighbourhood may therefore notice:

  • Temporary fluctuations in water pressure
  • Slight changes in water flow
  • Slightly elevated chlorine residuals
  • Possible brief changes in taste or odor

These conditions are expected while the systems connection is commissioned. Both water systems will continue to be monitored throughout the commissioning process, and any necessary adjustments will be made to maintain safe and reliable service.

If your water appears discolored, allow the cold-water tap to run for several minutes until it clears. Please contact Utilities at 604-947-4255 ext. 3 or email water@bimbc.ca if you experience persistent problems or have questions.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while this important work is completed.
