Fire Danger Rating is set to EXTREME

This means absolutely no fires, campfires or beach fires anywhere on the island.

It also means no BBQs in public including picnic areas and on the beach. BBQs at home are ok. Please use caution.

Please contact the Fire Chief regarding any work that may cause sparks such as operating chainsaws or blasting at fire@bimbc.ca

Anyone found in contravention of an open fire prohibition, are subject to penalties up to $100,000 and one year in jail. Call 911 to report open burning or campfires.
