As part of a growing provincial initiative, Bowen Island Municipality is now a participating community on the Building Permit Hub, British Columbia’s new, centralized platform for faster, easier permit applications.
The Building Permit Hub is a user-friendly digital system that simplifies the process of applying for and managing building permits. With a focus on efficiency, consistency, and collaboration, the Hub supports early compliance checks and provides tools to help users get their applications right the first time.

- Allows project leads to collaborate on your application and make submission to your application in the hub
How to use Building Permit Hub:
- Log in using your BCeID or BC Services Card account.
(Note: You do not need to be a BC resident to register for a BCeID.) - Review the User Guides and explanation of roles to understand how to navigate the system.
- Explore best practices and permitting resources on the Building Permit Hub’s information page.
- Use the project readiness tools to prepare your documents and check for compliance before submission.
What’s Coming Next:
The Building Permit Hub is continuously evolving to better meet user needs. This fall, the Hub team will be rolling out:
- Additional permit types including renovation, trades, and fire safety
- Standardized design catalogues for common building types
- Enhanced status tracking for better visibility into your application’s progress
