Pursuant to section 645 of the Local Government Act, the following property, land, and improvements will be offered for sale by public auction to be held at 10:00 am in the Council Chambers at Bowen Island Municipal Hall, 580 Bowen Island Trunk Rd., Bowen Island, BC on Monday, September 28, 2026, unless the delinquent taxes plus interest are sooner paid.

NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE PURCHASERS
The announced upset price is the minimum price and will be the starting point of the bidding on the property. The highest bid above the upset price will be accepted.
The final determination as to the successful bidder will be made by the Collector who will keep a sales record which shall be conclusive in all respects as to the sale.
Any person upon being declared the successful bidder must provide their name, contact information and Social Insurance Number, and must pay by cash, Interac, or certified cheque by 4:00 pm the same day. Failure to pay the sale price by the deadline will result in the property promptly being offered for sale again at 10:00 am on the following day.
Bowen Island Municipality makes no representation, express or implied, as to the condition or quality of the properties being offered for sale. All properties are sold as is. Prospective purchasers are urged to inspect the properties and make all necessary inquiries to municipal and other government departments, and in the case of strata lots to the strata corporation, to determine the existence of any bylaws, restrictions, charges or other conditions which may affect the value or suitability of the property.
Purchasers are further advised that properties sold at Tax Sale are subject to a redemption period of one year whereby the registered property owner(s) or registered charge holder may redeem their property sold at Tax Sale by paying the upset price plus applicable interest. During the one-year period allowed for redemption, the property must continue to be assessed and taxed in the current registered owner’s name.
If the property is redeemed, the Tax Sale purchaser is entitled to all amounts paid plus interest as set by the Province of British Columbia. Refund interest is calculated on the purchase price of the property, not the upset price.
The purchase of a tax sale property is subject to tax under the Property Transfer Tax Act on the fair market value of the property.
