Crews will be tying in the newly replaced water main section at Carter Rd. bridge on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. In an effort to reduce water disruptions for businesses and residents in the area, the work will be completed overnight.
Work will start at approximately 11:00 pm and continue until around 5:00 am on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
Homes and businesses in the areas of Carter Road, Bowen Island Trunk Road, Cardena Road, Miller Road and Deep Bay may be affected.
Residents may experience aloss of water pressure or low water pressure for some or all the work. Air bubbles and turbidity may occur once the work is complete.
Residents are encouraged to set aside water for drinking and basic needs. When the work is complete, running the cold-water tap will flush out air and sediment that may have been stirred up.
Due to the complexity of coordinating multiple pressure zones and temporarily supplying the system from neighbourhood storage tanks, the duration and extent of any water service interruptions cannot be predicted precisely. Crews will complete the work overnight to minimize impacts on residents and businesses.
