Regular Council Meeting
Proposed Building
Project Description
Council will be considering an application from Bowen Island Resilient Community Housing (BIRCH) for a development variance permit to to allow the construction of a 24-unit affordable housing project at 1033 Miller Road. The property is owned by the Municipality which has entered into an Agreement to Lease with BIRCH to provide the land for this affordable housing project. The variance would increase the permitted height of the building from 9.0 metres to 13.29 metres and reduce the required parking from 24 parking spaces down to 10 spaces on site.
Staff introduced the application to Council at their June 26, 2023 meeting.
