Bowen Island Fire Rescue responded to a 911 call regarding a fire at Apodaca Provincial Park this morning. Our fire crew, accessed the site by water taxi, and successfully put out the fire. Our thanks to the Bowen Island Fire Rescue team and the paddle boarder who called in the fire.
BIM is in contact with BC Parks to ensure on-site notices of fire risk are posted, and to ensure support for any future response.
In addition, BIM has been in contact with the Sea Kayak Association of BC and the BC Marine Trails Society regarding the incident.
