Bowen Island has two government docks that are maintained by the Municipality: Snug Cove Dock and Mt. Gardner Dock. Regulation of government docks is established in the Public Wharves Bylaw.
Snug Cove Dock
Snug Cove Dock offers limited day use and overnight moorage year-round, and monthly moorage from September 16 to June 15. Snug Cove Dock is in a water civic zone, where live-aboards are not permitted. The neighbouring private marinas (Bowen Island Marina and Union Steamship Marina) may offer other moorage options, such as overnight accommodation.
All moorage fees must be paid in advance. Please use the payment envelopes at the Wharfinger Shack at the top of the ramp to remit payment. Vessels moored at Snug Cove Dock must display the owner’s name and contact number.
Please note: Snug Cove dock is monitored by video surveillance.
Active loading or unloading is 15 minutes maximum, and the owner must stay aboard. No fee.
Day use moorage is 4 hours maximum, departing by 8:00 pm. The fee is $2.00 for vessels under 20 feet, and $5.00 for vessels 20 feet and over.
Overnight moorage is any vessel moored after 8:00 pm. Staying aboard the vessel overnight is not permitted. The fee is $0.50 a foot, departing by 12:00 noon the next day. Additional day use rates apply if the vessel is departing after 12:00 noon.
Monthly moorage is only available between September 16 and June 15. Please contact Bylaw Services to apply for monthly moorage.
