Bowen Island receives funding to construct the Multi-Use Path, Phase 4: Artisan Lane to Charlies Lane

BOWEN ISLAND – Bowen Island Municipality has received a $500,000 grant through the B.C. Active Transportation Infrastructure Grants Program, for the construction of Phase 4 of the Multi-Use Path (MUP) from Artisan Lane to Charlies Lane.

Construction of a cross-island Multi-Use Path (MUP) will provide a safe way for all ages and abilities to walk and cycle across the island. The MUP is also designed to accommodate equestrians. The project was initiated in 2017 and continues to be a priority for Council.

“Active transportation is important to Bowen Islanders given their keen interest in recreation and ecology.” said Mayor Andrew Leonard. “This significant funding towards the Multi-Use Path is sincerely appreciated.”
