Regular Council Meeting

Project Description

Bowen Island Municipality has received a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) Application at 1612 Joan Audrey Lane. BIM staff are preparing to introduce the application to Council at their April 8, 2024 meeting. Council may choose to set a formal date to consider issuance of the Temporary Use Permit. Additional notice would be sent advertising the decision date.

Kirstina Michaux & Connor Lower have applied for a temporary use permit to enable them to operate a Residential Guest Accommodation (RGA) business in their house on the property for a three-year term. The RGA business would occupy the whole house, for a maximum of 120 days per calendar year.

The zone for this property (Area 1 of Comprehensive Development 18 – Arbutus Ridge) does not permit the RGA use, and so a TUP is necessary to permit the temporary use. Council may place additional conditions or terms on the TUP prior to issuance.
