Due to the ongoing postal strike, BIM is unable to mail outstanding bill reminders.
December 31, 2024 is the deadline for paying outstanding property tax and utility balances. On January 1, 2025, outstanding balances start accruing daily interest.
Outstanding utility bills are transferred to property taxes, and accrue daily interest as outstanding taxes.
What could be outstanding?
- Unclaimed Home Owner Grant (HOG). These act like a discount. If you pay the discounted amount, but don’t claim the discount, you could have an outstanding balance of up to $825.
- Utility (water and/or sewer) balance.
- Partially paid taxes.
