Communities in Bloom Sub-Committee

Communities in Bloom (CiB) is a Canadian non-profit program committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with a focus on enhancing green spaces in communities.

Bowen Island participated as a novice in Communities in Bloom (CiB) in 2015, and has registered once again in 2016 to become an evaluated member in CiB. In July, the Island will be evaluated on the basis of tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, urban forestry, landscape, and floral displays. The four sectors that will be judged are Municipal, Business and Institutions, Residential and Community Involvement. Judges from CiB will arrive, tour the Island and provide an evaluation on which we will be rated on “number of blooms”.
